Non-marking SE tyres can be easily recognised by their light or white colour.
The carbon or carbon black content of the rubber is replaced by silicon dioxide, which means that they do not have the same abrasion resistance as black tyres of the same design. They also have a tendency to build up static charge. These tyres are used in areas where black abrasion marks must not be left on the floor, for example in the food industry.
